YOUR HOLIDAY APARTMENT

Holiday apartments – sometimes also called holiday homes or holiday flats – are usually fully furnished accommodations, which are leased for a specific period.

Unlike typical hotels or pensions, holiday apartments do have several rooms and also fully equipped kitchens in order to be able to live there with all amenities like at home.

Access to an own garden with an optional swimming pool, barbecue and other outdoor equipment are another important differentiator, compared to hotels or pensions.

COST OF HOLIDAY APARTMENTS: TIPS

Traditionally, holiday apartments are leased on a price per day, or week basis. Booking times are determined for a fixed number of days, or week. Usually, a holiday apartment is booked for a one-time event of the year – a summer holiday, or winter holiday.

On reposée, the business model works differently: you can book holiday homes for several months at once, whereby you are renting a share of the home. This share entitles you to use the holiday home for a specific period per month.

You are coordinating with the property owner or other tenants, who will be using the property when.
The advantage: you can use the holiday home in a more flexible way - you are renting a home away from home, not just a holiday home.

You stay flexible - no need for long term obligations
Home sweet home alike - not just an hotel apartment

WHAT ABOUT: TIMESHARING

Time Sharing – or Vacation Ownership - is another traditional way of sharing holiday apartments or leisure homes. Major market players for Time Sharing are RCI and Interval Leisure Group.

Owners of a time share have bought the right to use a leisure property at certain period of times of the year.

The time share model is having the long-term investor in mind, who wants to commit to a certain property for more than a year – ideally a lifetime.

Time Sharing requires an upfront investment, which can be significant. Handling of usage rights can be complicated. There are several usage models available on the market. For example, a “fixed week per year model,” or a “points model,” where one can redeem points for the usage of certain holiday homes.

Compared to time sharing, reposée is much more flexible: sharing on reposée means, there is no upfront investment cost involved. There is no need to sell shares if one wants to switch to another holiday home on reposée.

And you can use your holiday home on a monthly basis. Within your booked time frame, you can freely float your days you would like to book.
